Eyewitness accounts have further fueled public anger over Renee Nicole’s death. Emily Heller, a Minneapolis resident, told CNN she saw an ICE agent step directly in front of the moving vehicle before firing.
“She was already pulling away,” Heller said. “He stepped in front of her car and shot her through the windshield.”
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara confirmed Renee Nicole was inside her vehicle and began driving away after being approached by a federal officer, but stopped short of confirming federal claims that the agent was run over.
