Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the passing of Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML-N) Member of the Punjab Assembly Irfan Shafi Khokhar.
In a condolence message, the prime minister prayed that Allah Almighty elevate the ranks of the departed soul and grant patience to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
Irfan Shafi Khokhar passed away on Sunday after suffering a sudden heart attack. He was rushed to Doctors Hospital Lahore as his condition worsened, but he could not survive. His death was confirmed by Advisor to the Punjab Chief Minister Zeeshan Malik.
The late lawmaker was elected as a Member of the Punjab Assembly from Lahore’s PP-167 constituency. He was the elder brother of PML-N Member of the National Assembly Saiful Malook Khokhar and a cousin of Provincial Minister for Sports Faisal Ayub Khokhar.
Following his death, leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and local party officials expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences to the bereaved family. Party leaders paid tribute to Irfan Shafi Khokhar’s political services and termed his passing a significant loss for the party and the constituency.
