PTI Apology Before Dialogue – Atta Tarar

ISLAMABAD,– Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) must apologize to the nation before entering political dialogue. He accused the party of actions that harmed Pakistan’s international image. Tarar called on PTI to publicly distance itself from social media accounts allegedly operating from the UK and the US.

Tarar said dialogue is PTI’s only viable option. He added that no political party or leader is greater than Pakistan. He criticized the view that the country’s survival depends on one individual, calling it a threat to national integrity. Tarar also said Pakistan’s economy has stabilized and the leadership has received international recognition, particularly after successes against India.

The minister clarified that the government has no plans to ban social media platforms. Instead, it seeks to encourage technology companies to establish offices in Pakistan. He reiterated concerns about PTI’s internal affairs, claiming the party faces deep divisions and does not allow freedom of expression. Tarar said party leaders attempting to meet PTI founder Imran Khan often return with harsher narratives.

On foreign policy, Tarar reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Palestine. He said any decisions regarding a Gaza peace force would align with international law and reflect the wishes of the Palestinian people. He acknowledged the humanitarian work of the Alkhidmat Foundation and Jamaat-e-Islami in the region.

The information minister also criticized accountability practices during PTI’s tenure, alleging misuse of power. He said the interior ministry has completed documentation in London to bring a former PTI accountability aide back to Pakistan to face ongoing cases. Tarar concluded that while politics is significant, the current leadership prioritizes national stability, development, and reforms.
