8 Terrorists Killed in Kalat During Intelligence-Based Operation
Pakistan security forces killed eight Indian-sponsored terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Kalat district, Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
According to ISPR, the operation was conducted on December 24, 2025, after intelligence reports confirmed the presence of terrorists linked to the Indian proxy group Fitna al Hindustan.

In its official statement, ISPR said that security forces launched the intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Kalat district after receiving reports about terrorist activity in the area. Troops moved swiftly to the identified location and effectively engaged the terrorists’ hideout.

During the operation, an intense exchange of fire took place between security forces and the militants. As a result, eight Indian-sponsored terrorists were neutralised. No casualties among security personnel were reported.
ISPR stated that the operation was conducted with precision and professionalism, reflecting the preparedness and vigilance of Pakistan’s armed forces in countering terrorism threats.
Weapons and Explosives Recovered
Following the operation, security forces recovered a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the site. According to ISPR, the recovered material indicates the terrorists’ involvement in planning and executing attacks in the region.
The statement added that the killed terrorists were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in and around Kalat district. Their elimination is expected to disrupt militant operations and improve the overall security situation in the area.
Sanitisation Operations Ongoing
ISPR confirmed that sanitisation operations are currently underway to ensure that no remaining terrorists are present in the surrounding areas. These follow-up actions are being conducted to clear the region of any residual threats and to prevent militants from regrouping.
Security forces are maintaining a heightened presence in Kalat as part of the clearance operations. Intelligence agencies and law enforcement authorities are also coordinating closely to track down any facilitators or support networks linked to the terrorists.
Fitna al Hindustan Designation
The military’s media wing reiterated that terrorist groups operating in Balochistan have been designated as Fitna al Hindustan by the state. This designation highlights Pakistan’s stance regarding India’s alleged involvement in sponsoring terrorism and destabilisation efforts across the country.
According to security officials, these groups aim to target infrastructure, security forces, and civilians to create instability in the region. Pakistan has consistently raised concerns over cross-border terrorism at regional and international forums.
Counterterrorism Strategy Under Azm-e-Istehkam
ISPR stated that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their counterterrorism campaign under the national vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam.” The strategy has been approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.

The objective of Azm-e-Istehkam is to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism through coordinated intelligence operations, targeted actions, and sustained security measures. Authorities believe that intelligence-based operations remain a key pillar in neutralising militant threats with minimal collateral damage.
Previous Kalat Operation This Month
Earlier this month, on December 7, 2025, security forces carried out another intelligence-based operation in Kalat district. During that operation, twelve Indian-sponsored terrorists affiliated with Fitna al Hindustan were killed after an exchange of fire, ISPR had said at the time.
The back-to-back operations indicate an intensified counterterrorism drive in Balochistan, particularly in districts where militant groups have attempted to establish footholds.
Broader Security Context
Pakistan continues to face significant security challenges, particularly in border regions and provinces affected by militancy. In March 2025, Pakistan ranked second in the Global Terrorism Index, with terrorist-related deaths rising by 45 percent compared to the previous year.
The increase in violence has been attributed to a surge in militant attacks as well as intensified counterterrorism operations across the country.
In October 2025, the Islamabad-based Centre for Research and Security Studies reported that violence had increased during the third quarter of the year. The report linked the rise to heightened militant activity and aggressive security responses by state institutions.
Commitment to Eliminating Terrorism
ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces remain fully committed to eradicating the menace of terrorism. The military emphasized that operations against foreign-sponsored militants will continue at full pace until lasting peace and stability are achieved.
The statement concluded by stressing that the sacrifices and efforts of security personnel are crucial in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
